In My Shoes: Art for Hope & Healing Art Showcase

What does healing look like? This May, find out. The Living Room at Ben Gordon Center and the DeKalb County Community Mental Health Board invite you to In My Shoes: Art for Hope and Healing — a free community art showcase celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month. This event brings together artists and art lovers to explore the journey of mental health and recovery through artwork, short stories, and poetry. Each piece reflects a personal answer to the question: How do you heal? Artists: There's still time to participate. Submit an original artwork, short story, or poem that shares your experience with mental health or recovery. Submissions are open through May 7th — contact Katie Sherman at BGCEvents@nm.org for the digital submission form. Community members: Come experience art that connects and inspires. Community partners will be on hand to share resources and engage in meaningful conversation, and light refreshments will be provided. This showcase is open to everyone — a shared space for expression, reflection, and community. Free and open to the public.
